About Us

Recycle.gi was established as part of Gibraltar’s commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible waste management. Initially launched as a government-backed initiative, its primary goal was to streamline recycling efforts across the territory by providing accessible recycling points and promoting public awareness. Over the years, Recycle.gi has expanded its operations, introducing dedicated collection programs for materials such as paper, plastics, metals, glass, and electronic waste. Through collaboration with local businesses, schools, and community groups, Recycle.gi has played a crucial role in reducing landfill waste and fostering a culture of recycling among Gibraltar’s residents.

The initiative was founded by Jacqueline Stronge, who served as its Founder and Managing Director. Under her leadership, Recycle.gi quickly gained recognition as a vital component of Gibraltar’s waste management strategy. On December 1, 2013, Environment & Waste Management Services Ltd (EWMS) acquired Recycle.gi, fully integrating it into their range of environmental services. This acquisition allowed Recycle.gi to benefit from EWMS’s extensive industry expertise and resources, further enhancing its ability to provide efficient recycling solutions for the community.

Today, Recycle.gi continues to evolve, embracing new technologies and sustainable practices to ensure Gibraltar moves towards a greener future. By maintaining a strong focus on education, innovation, and environmental responsibility, Recycle.gi remains a leading force in Gibraltar’s recycling and waste reduction efforts.
